As your library of dashboards and workbooks grows, quickly finding the right content becomes just as important as building it.
Enhanced Search in Insights helps you narrow your results intentionally so you can find exactly what you need without clicking through multiple folders.
What Are Search Filters?
Search filters (sometimes called “facets”) are keywords you can add to your search to narrow results in a specific way.
Instead of typing only a name or title, you can tell Insights what kind of content you’re looking for. For example:
Only dashboards
Only content inside a certain folder
Only items created by a specific person
Only items with a specific label
This gives you more control over your search and helps you get to the right result faster.
Where to Find Search
Search is available at the very top of Insights.
To begin:
Click anywhere inside the global Search bar.
As soon as you click into it, search activates.
You can start typing normally — or add a search filter to narrow your results.
You’ll also see suggested filter options appear to guide you.
Available Search Filters
You can refine results using the following filters:
Filter | What It Does | Example |
| Shows content created by a specific user |
|
| Shows content within a specific folder |
|
| Shows content favorited by a specific user |
|
| Filters by content type |
|
| Filters by applied labels |
|
To use a filter, simply type the word followed by a colon (:), then the value.
How It Works in Practice
Example 1: Preview a Folder Without Clicking Into It
If you want to see everything inside Performance & Trends:
in: Performance & Trends
This lets you quickly review the content in that folder without navigating into it.
Example 2: See All FLYR Designed Dashboards
label: FLYR Designed type: dashboard
This gives you an overview of all dashboards with that label in one view.
Example 3: Find Content Created by a Specific Team Member
creator: John
Helpful if you’re looking for something built by a colleague.
Example 4: Narrow to Workbooks Only
type: dashboard
Useful when you’re building or editing and want to avoid dashboard results.
You Can Combine Filters
Filters can be used together to make your search more precise.
For example:
type: dashboard in: Performance & Trendscreator: John type: workbooklabel: FLYR Designed in: Booked vs. Stayed
If results feel too broad, add another filter.
If they feel too narrow, remove one.
Enhanced Search is the first step in expanding discoverability across Insights. As content grows, this helps you spend less time navigating and more time analyzing.
