Insights from FLYR Hospitality integrates AI directly into your analytics workflows to simplify how you build, explore, and communicate insights. It’s not just a technical tool. It’s a problem-solving partner designed to support how you already work, whether you prefer structured analysis in workbooks, open exploration in chat, or guided review through dashboards.

AI in Insights is intentionally flexible. Different users engage with data in different ways, and AI is embedded where it adds the most value rather than forcing a single workflow.

What You Can Do with AI in Insights

AI is embedded across several parts of your workflow, helping you build analysis, explore data flexibly, generate calculations, create visualizations, and summarize findings. Together, these capabilities reduce time spent on manual work and make it easier to move from data to decisions.

Today, AI in Insights supports four complementary ways of working:

  • Building analysis in workbooks with the AI Query Helper

  • Turning queries into narrative insights with AI Summary visualizations

  • Exploring data freely using the standalone AI Assistant

  • Exploring curated dashboards conversationally with the Dashboard AI Assistant

Each supports a different stage of analysis and different working styles, and they are designed to work together.

AI Query Helper: Your Conversational Data Analyst

The AI Query Helper transforms data exploration and dashboard creation into a simple conversation inside the workbook experience. It’s especially valuable for users who want visibility into the queries being built and the ability to directly adjust fields, filters, and calculations.

Whether you’re responding to a spontaneous question or designing a multi-tab dashboard, the assistant helps you build the exact query you need faster and without guesswork.

🧠 Ask Questions in Plain Language

Use everyday language to start your query:

  • “Show ADR and Revenue by segment for July compared to last year.”

  • “Which room types had the highest pick-up last week?”

  • “Display RevPAR and Occupancy by property for the next 90 days.”

The AI selects the right metrics, filters, and dimensions to generate your results—no need to know field names or query syntax.

➕ Add and Modify with Ease

You can iteratively refine your query as your needs evolve:

  • “Add cancellation rate and revenue share.”

  • “Break this down by channel instead of segment.”

  • “Change the comparison to same time last year.”

Behind the scenes, the AI dynamically updates your query logic—so you stay focused on the question, not the structure.

🧮 Create Custom Calculations

The AI Query Helper can also generate powerful calculations during the conversation. You can request totals, variances, ratios, or shares on the fly—without manually writing formulas.

Examples include:

  • “Show revenue share by room type.”

  • “Add a column for year-over-year variance in RevPAR.”

  • “Highlight dates where occupancy dropped below 60%.”

These dynamic calculations are built directly into your query results, saving time and allowing you to dig deeper without leaving the conversation. It’s a fast, flexible way to sharpen your analysis and build more meaningful dashboards.

📊 Build Dashboard-Ready Queries

Each interaction creates a workbook tab, forming the foundation for your dashboard visualizations. Once your query is ready, you can immediately visualize it as a table, bar chart, or another chart type. You can also request a specific format right in your prompt:

  • “Show this as a stacked column chart by month.”

  • “Pivot the table to show channels across columns and KPIs down rows.”

AI Summary Visualization: Turn Queries Into Instant Understanding

The AI Summary visualization is a narrative chart option that turns a query into a concise written explanation directly on a dashboard. Instead of scanning rows or interpreting charts, stakeholders can quickly understand what the data is showing.

This is especially useful when:

  • Presenting performance to executive stakeholders

  • Highlighting key takeaways from detailed tables

  • Making dashboards more self-explanatory for broader audiences

Each summary includes a headline insight, key trends, and notable anomalies. Like any visualization, it updates dynamically as filters or data change.

🎯 Tailor the Summary to Your Audience

Use the Additional Context input to guide the tone, focus, and depth of the summary.

For example:

“Create a detailed, analytical summary of the property's performance compared to the previous period. Highlight notable trends and any data anomalies. Conclude the summary with an ‘Actions to be Taken’ section clearly outlining areas needing further investigation. Use precise, professional language and support statements with numerical data.”

AI Assistant (Standalone): Explore Freely and Move Quickly Into Dashboards

The standalone AI Assistant in the side navigation panel supports open-ended exploration, hypothesis testing, and broader analytical conversations. Many users prefer starting here because it feels natural, flexible, and fast for ad-hoc questions.

You can:

  • Ask exploratory or high-level questions

  • Iterate quickly without committing to a workbook structure

  • Upload documents to provide additional context

  • Combine Insights data with external references

The AI can use uploaded documents alongside Insights data to support richer reasoning, such as incorporating marketing activity, operational plans, assumptions, or external performance data.

Recent enhancements also make it easier to move from AI chat into structured work. You can select queries and visualizations created in chat and use them as the foundation for building a dashboard, making it a seamless path from exploration to sharing and monitoring.

Some users naturally gravitate toward this workflow because it matches how they think and explore. Others prefer the structured visibility of workbooks. Both paths are fully supported.

Dashboard AI Assistant: Explore and Ask Questions in Context

The Dashboard AI Assistant brings conversational analytics directly into dashboards. Instead of switching back to workbooks or restarting analysis in chat, you can ask questions in the context of the dashboard you’re reviewing.

The assistant uses the full dashboard as its starting point, working across all tiles together. When a dashboard is well curated around a specific type of analysis, the AI can help you navigate what matters, connect insights across tiles, and go deeper as questions arise without losing context.

This is especially helpful when:

  • Reviewing recurring dashboards as part of daily or weekly workflows

  • Investigating spikes, dips, or unexpected trends

  • Connecting signals across multiple tiles

  • Validating questions quickly without rebuilding analysis

Just like the standalone AI Assistant, you can upload supporting documents into the Dashboard Assistant. This allows the AI to combine dashboard context, Insights data, and external inputs in a single conversation.

The Dashboard Assistant complements both the AI Query Helper and standalone AI Assistant by supporting guided exploration on top of curated analysis.

Why It Matters Across Every Role

AI in Insights supports a wide range of working styles and roles:

  • Revenue Managers and Analysts get faster answers, easier iteration, and multiple ways to move from exploration into structured analysis.

  • Regional and Corporate Leaders gain clearer narratives and simpler ways to navigate performance across portfolios.

  • Executives and Stakeholders get visibility into trends and outcomes without needing to dig through complex reports.

Whether you prefer structured workbooks, conversational exploration, or dashboard-driven review, AI supports how you work rather than forcing a single approach.
