Updating or removing restrictions can be done from a couple of different entry points. Let’s review these together, depending on the restriction type you are trying to update.

Tactical restrictions

As you can only have a single tactical restriction for a stay date, inventory type and rate plan, you only need to apply the desired restriction without having to update the one that it’s already in place. Let’s say you have an arrival minLOS 2 for the 1st of September for inventory type Single and rate plan CORP20 and you would like to increase it to a minLOS 3; you would only need to create a new minLOS 3 restriction and you're done 🚀

You can now remove a tactical restriction by right-clicking on a date in the Restrictions table to open the Restrictions Detail. In the Restrictions Detail panel, simply click on the delete icon next to the restriction you want to remove. This action will delete the tactical restriction for the selected date, inventories and rate plans, but will not affect other entries.

Strategic restrictions

You have the possibility to update and delete strategic restrictions from multiple entry points in the application:

  1. In the Optimization > Restrictions tab, you can review existing strategic restriction in the Restrictions Details popover. Click on the edit icon to update the specific restriction or delete it. Click on the delete icon to remove the strategic restriction - this will entirely remove the strategic restriction from all dates, inventories, and rate plans included in the strategic restriction.

  2. In the Configuration > Strategic Restrictions screen, from the restriction list, you can select the restriction you would like to edit or delete and select the desired action.

Note - If you only need to remove a strategic restriction for a specific night and rate plan, we recommend creating a tactical restriction of `Open Night Fully`. This ensures the selected rate plan for that night remains available while keeping the strategic restrictions intact.

Example: Imagine you received a high number of last-minute cancellations and want to open the 2-night stay promotion (which has a strategic Min 2 restriction) for just one night on an upcoming Friday. Instead of removing the strategic restriction, simply create a tactical restriction of `Open Night Fully` to allow bookings for that night without affecting the overall strategy.*

In the Strategic Restrictions list, you can multi-select the restrictions you would like to delete in bulk rather than having to delete them one-by-one.

Once updated or deleted from FLYR, any related restrictions that were created by FLYR in your PMS will automatically be updated/deleted for you. Nothing to do anymore 😊
