FLYR empowers you with the flexibility to dynamically price multiple rate plans based on market demand. Instead of relying on fixed discount percentages, you can independently adjust non-refundable, promotional, and long-stay rate discounts without dropping your base rate price. This allows you to optimize rate plan discounts dynamically, protect high-value segments like dynamic corporate rates, improve competitive positioning, and maximize revenue opportunities without compromising your pricing strategy. Let’s see how you can set this up via FLYR.

Before You Begin: Setting Up Rate Plans in the PMS

Before enabling pricing in FLYR, the rate plans you want to price must be:

Created in the PMS – Ensure all applicable rate plans exist in your PMS.
Active – The rate plan must be active.
Not Derived – FLYR cannot price rate plans that are derived within the PMS.

💡 Recommendation: If you need to create a new rate plan in your PMS, ensure that this is created at least 24 hours before enabling pricing in FLYR. New rate plans are received through the daily sync, so allowing this time ensures a smooth setup process.

Step 1: Defining Your Base Rate and Rate Types

Each property in FLYR has one base rate, which serves as the primary rate that FLYR prices dynamically. All other rate types, such as non-refundable, long stay or promotional rates, are derived from this base rate. For each base rate, you can define up to four dependent rates that FLYR will price based on your defined deviation.

Assigning a Property to a Base Rate

Before setting up dependent rates, ensure your property is correctly assigned to its base rate. This is the foundation for all rate pricing in FLYR. To add properties to a base rate, click on ellipsis icon next to the base rate you want and then on Edit. Open the properties selection and add the new property to this base rate.
Note - please contact us if you want to move a property between base rates.

Defining Rate Types

In the Rate Types settings, you’ll define the different types of rates you want to price via FLYR. The Rate Type is a conceptual category—it represents the product name you wish to price via FLYR. You’ll assign specific PMS rate plans to these rate types in the next step.

Follow these steps to create a new rate type:

  1. Click the New Rate Type button.
Note: If you do not see this button, please contact us to enable it.

  2. Enter a name (e.g., Non-Refundable).

  3. Select whether the deviation from the base rate is a percentage or a fixed amount, and enter the deviation value.

  4. Choose the base rate this rate type should be derived from.

  5. (Optional) Define the rate policy if applicable.

Step 2: Mapping Rate Types to PMS Rate Plans

Once you have defined your rate types, you need to map them to specific PMS rate plans. This step ensures that FLYR can push the correct prices to the right rate plans in your PMS.

Mapping Process

  1. Navigate to the Mappings tab.

  2. For each property, rate type, and inventory, select the PMS rate plan to push prices to.

  3. Review changes and save.

💡 Important Considerations:

  • Only active, non-derived rate plans from the PMS are available for mapping.

  • A rate plan cannot be used for multiple rate types within the same inventory.

Bulk Editing

To efficiently update mappings across multiple inventories and/or properties:

  1. Select the properties to update using the property selector in the top-right corner.

  2. Click Bulk Edit and define the PMS rate plan for each rate type.

  3. FLYR will map the selected rate plan for all applicable properties and inventories where it is available.

  4. Validate the mapping and save.

💡 Note: You can choose not to map a rate plan for certain inventories if you do not wish to price them via FLYR.

Finalizing the Setup

Once mappings are saved, a price resync will be triggered for the newly mapped rates. This ensures that the mapped rate plans are priced based on:
✔️ Your defined deviations
✔️ Current FLYR rates

Depending on the number of rate plans and inventories involved, the resync process may take a few minutes before prices are fully integrated into your PMS.

You are now fully set up to price multiple rate plans via FLYR 🎉 If you want to adjust the deviation for specific stay nights, check out this article for more details.
