Act Signals and the Signals Tab in Quick View

What each Act signal means, where to review it in the property-level Quick View, and how to act on it.

Written by Maria Garbea

An Act signal flags a moment where a clear gap exists between the current state and the optimal state, and a decision is genuinely needed, unlike Monitor signals, which only inform. This article covers the four Act signal types, where to review them in full in the Signals tab of the property-level Quick View, and how to act on each one from there.

Note: the Signals Calendar is currently available to pilot and select accounts only. If you do not see it on your Optimization screen and would like it enabled for your account, reach out via the in-app chat.

Note: Act signals replace the price settings and restrictions recommendations that previously lived in the alert drawer. If you are used to checking the drawer for these, this is where they live now.

For an overview of the Signals Calendar itself, see Signals Calendar Overview. For how to set aside signals you have already reviewed, see Marking Act Signals as Read.

Where Act signals appear

Act signals show up in two places:

  • On the Signals Calendar, as a distinct coloured indicator on the affected day, separate from the Monitor heatmap shading. A day can carry more than one Act signal type at once, each with its own indicator, and you can choose which types to display using the Act dropdown (Select All, or check only the types you want to see, each with its own colour and count).

  • In the Signals tab of the property-level Quick View, where you get the full detail and the actions to resolve it.

An indicator's appearance also tells you whether a signal has already been reviewed: see Marking Act Signals as Read for what changes once a signal is marked read.

The property-level Quick View and the Signals tab

Clicking on any day from the Signals Calendar opens the property-level Quick View on that date, the same Quick View you are already familiar with - see An Introduction to Quick View. The new Signals tab is where every Monitor and Act signal for that day comes together in one place: a summary of the day's situational signals on one side, and the specific decisions waiting on you on the other, each with the detail and actions you need to resolve it without leaving the Quick View.

The Signals tab's left column has two sections:

  • Monitor, with a single card called Day Summary, selected by default.

  • Act (n/n), with the first number showing how many of that day's Act signals are still unread against the total, for example Act (2/2), and a Mark All as Read action next to it. Below that, one card per active Act signal, each carrying its own detail.

  • Selecting any card shows its full detail and available actions in the right panel. Filters applied on the calendar itself, the pick-up threshold, the position threshold, or which Monitor signal is active, do not carry over here; the Signals tab always shows every signal for the day regardless of what is filtered on the calendar.

Day Summary is the card selected by default, and it is where both Monitor signals come together for the day. It opens with a plain-language summary under the pick-up horizon you have selected elsewhere on the page (for example Last 3 Days), covering:

  • The net pick-up and which inventory groups drove it, for example "Pick-up increased by 18 units, led by Standard Twin Room (+9), Standard Double Room (+5), and Luxury Room (+4)."

  • The average price movement across inventory groups, for example "Prices were raised by an average of €15.14."

  • Your market position, for example "Your shopped rate of €215 is 27% above the comp set median of €169," where the comp set figure links through to the Market Rates tab for the full detail. This is not displayed if Market Rates are not enabled for your property.

Below the summary, a table lists every inventory group with its pick-up, its price change, and its current price. Click on any inventory group name to navigate to that inventory group's own Quick View.

Price Threshold (min/max hit)

This signal appears when the pricing engine is constrained by a price setting, meaning the price is outside your minimum or maximum, or within 5% of either bound. These are the alerts that used to live in the alert drawer.

  • The card names the price setting responsible, and notes that surrounding nights are typically affected too.

  • The detail panel shows a table of impacted inventory groups, the threshold value hit for each, and the current price.

  • Click the edit icon on the price setting to open it directly for editing, without leaving the Quick View.

For how price settings themselves are created and configured, see Managing your Price Settings.

Price Freeze

This signal appears when one or more inventory groups have an active price freeze, meaning prices will not be automatically pushed to the PMS and/or CRS for them.

  • The card shows the affected inventory groups and how long the freeze has been in place.

  • The detail panel lists the frozen inventory groups, their current price, and the Influenced Price, the price FLYR would move to if unfrozen.

  • Ready to let the engine price these again? Click Unfreeze all to lift the freeze on every affected inventory group for this night in one action.

  • Each frozen inventory group links to its own Quick View, so you can review strategy before unfreezing.

For how a freeze is set in the first place, see Freezing Prices on Automation.

Restrictions Recommendations

This signal appears when FLYR has generated a restriction recommendation that has not yet been applied.

  • The card shows the number of pending recommendations and a summary of the affected inventory groups.

  • The detail panel shows the recommended restriction per inventory group, grouped by inventory groups that share the same recommendation for that night.

  • Click Apply all to put apply all recommended restriction for this night, rather than applying them one by one.

  • Each inventory group links to its own Quick View, landing on its restrictions tab.

For the broader restrictions recommendation workflow, see How to Accept FLYR Inventory Optimization Recommendations.

Price Recommendations (manual properties)

This signal applies only to properties on manual pricing, where FLYR's Influenced Price recommendation needs your review before it takes effect. On properties using automation, this separate signal does not apply, because the Influenced Price is applied automatically unless a price freeze is in place for that inventory group.

  • The card shows FLYR's Influenced Price recommendation per inventory group against the current price.

  • Agree with the recommendation? Apply it directly from the card, the same bulk-apply pattern used by the other Act signal cards on this tab.

Getting back to the pricing table or inventory group

Each signal card carries a link icon that centers that date in the Pricing table, showing the 7 days before it.

  • FLYR centers the table on that date and loads the days around it, the page scrolls to it automatically.

  • FLYR will not auto-load a date 7 days before when it falls within the next week, so the view does not load past dates that are no longer relevant to you.

This works the other way too. From any inventory group's own Quick View, an icon takes you back to Signals for that same date, so however you arrived at an inventory group, from a signal card or by opening it directly from the Optimization table, you are always one click away from that day's full set of signals.
