Revenue, pricing, and cost values across Insights display with currency symbols so it is clear which currency you are viewing.
Where currency symbols appear
Symbols such as $, €, and £ appear on revenue, pricing, and cost measures across Bookings, Pick-up, Pricing, Forecast Evolution, Rate Shopping, F&B, Booked vs. Stayed, STR, and Demand360. They appear in tables, tooltips, and chart data labels wherever supported.
Currency options in Insights
The currency selector controls the currency used for displayed values and symbols.
Group Default Currency — converts selected properties into the group's reporting currency for consistent comparison
With Daily Dynamic Exchange Rates, Group Default Currency, EUR, GBP, USD, and commonly used local currencies from your portfolio are available.
With Fixed Exchange Rates, the selector shows the relevant commonly used conversion currencies configured for your group.
Property Local Currency — preserves each property's production in the local currency defined in its PMS. This option is specific to Insights and is not a platform-wide selector option.

How the correct symbol is determined
The symbol reflects the selected currency. When Property Local Currency is selected, each row uses the PMS-defined local currency for that property, so a portfolio view can contain different symbols. For a common reporting currency, the selected properties are converted into that currency and use its symbol.
Known limitations
Abbreviated values: A column using “Use abbreviations for big numbers” does not show a currency symbol. Turn off abbreviation when the symbol must be visible.
Calculated fields: Custom formulas, variance columns, and XLOOKUP-based fields do not currently carry currency formatting. Base measures do.
Subtotals and totals: Row totals, column totals, and subtotals do not currently show a symbol, although their values are calculated correctly.
Chart axes: Symbols appear on chart data labels and tooltips, but not on x-axis or y-axis labels.
AI Summary, AI Description, and AI Subtitle: AI-generated text needs a currency-code dimension in the underlying query to render a symbol. Contact us through the help chat if the tile shows a symbol but its AI-generated text does not.
Troubleshooting a missing symbol
If none of the limitations above applies:
Open the formatting options for the tile or column.
Check Display Format.
If it is set to a fixed format such as Decimal, change it to Auto.
Currency-symbol formatting renders when Display Format is Auto. A fixed decimal format overrides it. If the format is already Auto and the symbol is still missing, contact us through the help chat.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the symbol missing from a total or calculated column?
Totals, subtotals, and calculated fields are known limitations. The underlying values remain correct.
Why did the symbol disappear when I abbreviated large numbers?
Abbreviation and currency-symbol formatting cannot currently be applied to the same column. Turn off abbreviation to display the symbol.
Why does a chart show the symbol on data labels but not the axis?
Chart axes do not currently carry currency symbols. Use data labels or tooltips to confirm the currency.
How does Insights know which symbol to show?
It uses the selected currency. Property Local Currency uses each property's PMS-defined local currency; common reporting currencies use the selected conversion currency.
Does this apply to my property or property group?
Yes. Currency symbols apply to supported revenue, pricing, and cost measures for properties and property groups, subject to the limitations above.
