Revenue, pricing, and cost values across Insights now display with their currency symbol built directly into the number, so it's always clear which currency you're looking at. This article covers where currency symbols appear, how the correct symbol is determined, current known limitations, and how to resolve the most common reasons a symbol might not be showing.
Where Currency Symbols Appear
Currency symbols (e.g. $, €, £) now display on revenue, pricing, and cost measures across:
Bookings
Pick-up
Pricing
Forecast Evolution
Rate Shopping
F&B
Booked vs. Stayed
STR
Demand360
They appear in tables and tooltips, and on chart data labels, wherever these measures are shown.
How the correct symbol is determined: The symbol reflects the currency for each row based on your currency selector filter, or the property's group currency if no filter is applied. In a portfolio view spanning multiple currencies, each row shows its own correct symbol, not a single default for the whole table.
Known Limitations
This is a first release, and there are five specific display cases where the symbol doesn't currently appear. We're aware of each of these and are actively working to close the gaps.
Abbreviated values. If a table column has "Use abbreviations for big numbers" turned on, the currency symbol won't show on that column's values. Turning on abbreviation changes how the column is formatted, and the symbol formatting can't currently apply on top of it.
What to do: If you need the currency symbol visible on a column, turn off abbreviation for that column. If you rely on abbreviation to fit values into a narrow column, the underlying value is still correct and complete; it's only the visible symbol that's affected.
Calculated fields. Custom formulas built from other measures, such as a variance/delta column comparing OTB, forecast, and budget, or an XLOOKUP-based Pick-up column, don't currently carry the currency symbol. Only base (non-calculated) measures display the symbol.
What to do: If a calculated column is showing the correct value but no symbol, that's expected for now. Add a reference column showing one of the underlying base measures nearby if you need the currency visible alongside the calculation.
Subtotals and totals. Column totals, row totals, and subtotals in tables don't currently show the symbol, even when the individual rows above them display it correctly.
What to do: Underlying totals are calculated correctly; only the visible symbol on the total row is affected. Reference the currency shown on the detail rows above.
Chart axis labels. In charts, the currency symbol shows on data labels (the values attached to bars, lines, or points) but not on x-axis or y-axis labels.
What to do: This is expected. Refer to the data labels or tooltips on the chart for the currency symbol; axis labels will show the number without it for now.
AI Summary, AI Description, and AI Subtitle. Any AI-generated text field needs the underlying query to include a currency code dimension in order to render the currency symbol in that text. Most dashboards already include this; a small number may not.
What to do: If AI-generated text on a tile isn't showing a currency symbol that's visible elsewhere on the same tile, this is the likely cause. Reach out via the ? icon at the bottom of the left-hand menu and we'll check the underlying query for you.
Troubleshooting: A Value Isn't Showing Its Symbol
If a value doesn't match one of the five known limitations above, it's almost always a display format setting rather than a limitation.
Open the formatting options for the tile or column in question.
Check the Display Format setting.
If it's set to a fixed format like Decimal, change it to Auto.
Currency symbol formatting only renders when the display format is set to Auto. A fixed decimal format overrides it.

Why don't I see a currency symbol on this value?
Check the five known limitations above first (abbreviated columns, calculated fields, totals/subtotals, chart axis labels, AI-generated text). If none apply, it's most likely a display format set to Decimal instead of Auto. See the Troubleshooting section above.
Why is the symbol missing on my total row, but present on the rows above it?
This is expected in the current release. Subtotals, column totals, and row totals don't yet carry the currency symbol, even though the underlying calculation is correct. See Known Limitation 3.
Why does my variance/delta column (or any calculated column) not show a symbol?
Calculated fields, including anything built with a formula or XLOOKUP, don't currently support currency symbol formatting. Only base measures do. See Known Limitation 2.
I turned on "Use abbreviations for big numbers" and the symbol disappeared. Is that expected?
Yes, this is a known limitation. Abbreviation and currency symbol formatting can't currently be used together on the same column. See Known Limitation 1.
Why does my chart show the symbol on the data labels but not on the axis?
This is expected in the current release. Currency symbols render on chart data labels, but not on x-axis or y-axis labels. See Known Limitation 4.
How does Insights know which currency symbol to show?
It's based on your currency selector filter, or the property's group currency if no filter is set. Each row in a multi-currency view shows its own correct symbol.
