[New] Reading the Optimization Table

A guide to the redesigned Optimization table, covering the Pricing and Restrictions views, the enriched cell layout, the Price Settings row, the heatmap, and the data panels below the Pricing table.

Written by Maria Garbea

The Optimization screen brings your pricing, inventory, and performance context into a single view. Instead of switching between separate Pricing, Occupancy, and Pick-up tabs, you now work from one enriched table, with the supporting data you need surfaced directly alongside it.

This article explains how to read the new table and how each part of the screen works together.

Note: The redesigned Optimization screen is currently available to pilot properties. If you would like your property included, please reach out to our Advisory team.

The view switcher: Pricing and Restrictions

In the top-left of the table header, a segmented control lets you switch between two views:

  • Pricing - the enriched pricing and inventory table. This is the default view.

  • Restrictions - the restrictions display. See The Restrictions view below.

The four separate tabs you used previously (Pricing, Restrictions, Occupancy, and Pick-up) are now consolidated. Occupancy and pick-up are no longer separate tabs - that data is surfaced inside the Pricing view and in the panels below it, which the rest of this article describes.

Note: All existing Actions, top-of-page navigation, and interactions remain available. Only the structure of how you reach them has changed.

The Price Settings row

The Price Settings row is now a dedicated, always-visible row at the top of the table, directly above the main displayed table. It gives you context on what is driving the price for any given date without opening another screen. It has two sub-rows:

  1. Price Settings and Property Closures - displays your seasonal strategies, event price settings, and closures, each labeled. When multiple items overlap on the same dates, they stack within the row highlighting the one in effect. The hierarchy logic is unchanged: default, then seasonal, then event, then closure.

  2. Notes - displays notes configured for a specific date. If multiple notes apply on the same date, the shortest one is shown with a + to indicate there are more.

Each row uses color-coded blocks that span their date ranges and shows the name of the item. Hover over any block to see the full popover with its details.

The heatmap

A heatmap segmented control sits in the top-right of the table header. It changes only the background coloring of the cells - no data points are added or removed when you switch between options.

The options available depend on your property's automation mode:

  • Automated properties have three options: Price (default, reflecting current vs AI Price coloring), Occupancy, and Pick-up.

  • Manual mode properties have four options: Influenced Price (default), AI Price, Occupancy, and Pick-up.

Each option uses its own color scale, shown in the legend, so you can spot patterns across your dates at a glance:

  • AI Price shades each date from Less Aggressive to More Aggressive, so you can quickly see where FLYR is pricing conservatively versus pushing for more.

  • Influenced Price highlights each day based on the current price and the Influenced Price, the AI recommendation accounting for your past manual influences.

  • Occupancy shades each date based on your OTB, so you can immediately identify which dates are filling up and which still have room to sell.

  • Pick-up shades each date by booking movement, so you can spot strong pick-up at one end and cancellations at the other.

Show pick-up since

The Show pick-up since selector lets you choose the period the pick-up value is measured against: Today, 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, or 14 days. Its selection now drives the pick-up delta in two places at once:

  1. The inline pick-up value in each cell.

  2. The Pick-up panel below the table (see Data panels below).

Reading the cells

Each row in the Pricing view now holds significantly more context, so you do not need to switch views to understand a single date. There are two kinds of rows to read: the Property row at the top, and the Inventory rows beneath it. Open the legend (the info icon in the top-right) at any time to see the full cell breakdown.

Property row

The Property row gives you the top-line position for each date:

  • Occ OTB | Forecast - your OTB occupancy and your forecast occupancy, shown side by side (for example, 85% | 89%).

  • Pick-up - the booking movement over your chosen period, shown alongside (for example, +2).

Note: The Property row appears at the top of both the Pricing view and the Restrictions view, so your top-line occupancy, forecast, and pick-up context stays with you whichever view you are working in.

Pricing - Inventory rows

Each Inventory row shows the detail you act on. Reading a cell:

  • Current Price - center of the cell. This is your current selling price.

  • AI price - top left. This is the price FLYR recommends.

  • Influenced price - to the right of the price line. Shown when a manual override exists for that date and inventory.

  • Left to Sell - left side of the current price. The remaining inventory count for that date.

  • Tactical Restriction - an icon shown when a tactical restriction applies to that date and inventory.

  • Occ OTB - bottom left, indicating your current occupancy based on your bookable capacity.

  • Pick-up - bottom right, highlighting the number of units picked up in the selected horizon.

Note: Which data points appear inside the cell is configurable per user through Display Options. If you do not see one of the values above, check whether it is toggled on. See the related Display Options article.

The Restrictions view

Switching to the Restrictions view using the view switcher gives you a quick, at-a-glance understanding of the restrictions you have in place on any given day, across your buckets and inventories. The view shares the same structure as the Pricing view: the same Property row sits at the top (with your Occ OTB, Forecast, and Pick-up), the same dates run across the columns, and the same Price Settings row provides context, so moving between the two views never costs you your top-line picture. You will see restriction labels in two places:

  1. At the top, in your property-level buckets overview.

  2. At the individual inventory level.

Reading the cells (open the legend for the full breakdown):

  • Bucket cells show the Current Restrictions in effect for that bucket, as labels (for example, Min 3 or CTS).

  • Inventory cells show

    • Top line - your current price so that you never need to switch between Pricing & Restrictions tabs;

    • Center - the restriction currently applied across all your parity rate plans;

    • Bottom line - the number of units left to sell for that date and inventory;

    • Purple shading - it indicates the percentage of yieldable rate plans that are being restricted as you are yielding these rate plans independently;

    • Teal colour - highlights that FLYR is recommending to apply a restriction recommendation that is awaiting for your review.

If you want to know more about how to review and apply FLYR’s recommendations, check out this article, reading the restriction labels here or an overview to rate buckets here.

The legend

If this is your first time viewing the screen, open the legend using the info icon in the top-right corner. The legend has been updated to help you easily navigate the screen.

Data panels below the table

Below the Pricing table, a set of customizable panels surface the supporting context that previously required switching tabs or systems. Each panel aligns its columns with the dates in the table above, so you can read down a single date across every panel. You control which panels and rows appear, and the order they display in, through Display Options (see the related article).

Property Performance

Your per-date performance, displayed against your plan. STLY is compared on a day-of-week basis.

  • Metrics - Occupancy, Units, ADR and Revenue. Note: ADR and Revenue are overnight accommodation only.

  • Comparisons - Forecast, Budget, STLY and LY.

  • Views - toggle between table view and chart view.

Pick-up

Your booking movement, driven by the same Show pick-up since selector used for the inline cell value.

  • Units Pick-up, split into Created Units, Updated Units, and Cancelled Units.

  • ADR (overnight, for the full pick-up).

  • Revenue (overnight, for the full pick-up).

  • Views - toggle between table view and chart view. In the chart view, you can break the pick-up down by Pricing Classification (default) or Segment.

Inventory and Capacity

Your per-date inventory position. Table view only.

  • Left to Sell

  • Out of Order

  • Bookable Capacity

  • Physical Capacity
