Ancillary categories play a crucial role in group pricing by allowing hotels to understand the full profitability picture of a group beyond just the rooms revenue. By configuring ancillary categories for profitability metrics, hotels can understand the true bottomline incremental contribution of a group, which means more accurate pricing and better strategic decisions.

There are three key components of ancillary profitability calculation, which are covered in more detail below:

  1. Profit margins

  2. VAT amounts (for tax inclusive properties)

  3. Transient ancillary spend

Ancillary Revenue - Add Profit Details By Property

To configure VAT Types and Profit Margins:

  1. Navigate to the ancillary revenue settings for a specific property.

  2. Enter values directly into the table.

  3. Copy and paste values as needed for quick updates.

  4. Values can also be copied across multiple properties for streamlined bulk edits.

Ancillary Revenue - Add Transient Spend By Property

To configure average transient spend:

  1. Input the average spend amount by segment for each category directly into the table.

  2. You may enter the same value for all segments or differentiate based on seasonality and demand.

  3. Leave categories like banquet/conference/catering or function space as 0 if they apply only to group bookings.

  4. Copy and paste values within or across properties for efficient updates.

  5. Note that segment availability varies by property based on segment configuration.

Ancillary Revenue - Add Profit & Transient Spend By Category

For uniform category configurations across multiple properties:

  1. Switch to "By Category" view once one or more properties have ancillary categories enabled.

  2. Use this view for bulk updates where categories such as resort fees remain consistent across multiple properties.
