Understanding Data Freshness in FLYR

How frequently does FLYR update PMS data

Written by Laya Janssens

Knowing how frequently FLYR updates its data helps you interpret what you see across the platform and understand why figures may occasionally appear slightly behind your PMS in real time. This article explains how data refresh works across the different parts of FLYR. The data refresh rates described in this article apply to properties using FLYR's full optimization platform (both Optimize & Insights).

Reservation and revenue data

Reservation and revenue data — the on-the-books figures you see across Home, the Optimization calendar, and Planning — refreshes approximately every 25 minutes. In the worst case, where a booking update arrives just as a refresh cycle begins, the delay before it appears in FLYR is around 50 minutes.

All three areas of the platform draw from the same data source, so figures will always be consistent across screens. If you notice a difference between what you see on the Home page and the Optimization calendar, this is not a data discrepancy — both will catch up within the same refresh cycle.

Data in Insights is refreshed on an hourly cycle.

Note: If you are comparing FLYR against a live PMS report and notice a small gap on recent or future dates, it is worth waiting for the next refresh before investigating further. The time window mentioned above begins once your PMS sends the update to FLYR, and the time for that initial sync can vary depending on your PMS and its configuration. For persistent differences beyond 1%, see Data Validation against PMS Reports.

Optimization engine

The data used by FLYR's optimization engine to generate price and restriction recommendations operates independently from what is displayed in the app. It is streamed in near real-time directly from your PMS, meaning the engine always runs on the freshest data available — typically ahead of what is visible on screen. Thus, new price and restriction recommendations are generated every hour based on that freshest data and appear on screen immediately after each run.

This means that if you have just received a booking, FLYR's optimization engine would already have factored it into its recommendations even before the updated figures appear on your dashboard.

Internal data sets in Insights

Some data sets within Insights — including forecasts, budgets, rate plans, segments, price monitoring, and data enrichment — follow their own refresh schedules. For a full breakdown of update frequencies for these internal data sets, see Internal Data Set Sync Frequencies within Insights.
