Don't know what an Inventory Group is or what the scenarios are where they are recommended?

Check out this article, and if you are still not sure please get in touch via our chat.

1. How to create a new Inventory Group

  • Open the Configuration Center using the Settings cog wheel on the bottom left corner

  • Click on Go To Inventory Settings or Go to Optimization

  • Ensure correct property is selected on the top right corner

  • Click on the New Group button at top right

  • Give your new Group a name

    • Note - You cannot save changes to your Inventory Configuration if any groups do not have a name

  • Add the Inventory types you want to include in the new Group by dragging and dropping each inventory into the group

    • The first inventory type in your group sort order will automatically be labeled as Parent Inventory and will not allow for input of a price deviation. This inventory will serve as the "base" price for this inventory group.

    • The order of inventory types within the inventory group is not important for the pricing engine, but it will determine the sort order of inventory types that you see within the platform.

    • Once you save a new group, you cannot re-order or remove the Parent Inventory.

  • Once you are ready with the set up of your new Group, don't forget to save your work. Click on the "Save Changes" button. This action will automatically populate your changes within FLYR, but will not sync to your external system.

  • Once you are finished making changes and are happy with your configuration, click Sync Changes at top right to push any updated rates to your connected system.

2. How to edit an Inventory Group

  • You can rearrange the order of the inventories in the new Group (with the exception of the Parent Inventory) by dragging and dropping to reorder

  • If you wish to add differentials between the inventories in the new Group, set those in the Price Deviation column. Select if you wish those to be in an absolute amount, or a percentage.

  • Non-Parent Inventory types can easily be added or removed from an inventory group.

  • Once you are ready with the edit to your Group, don't forget to save your work. Click on the "Save Changes" button and review your updates in the Optimization calendar if necessary.

  • Once you are finished editing, clicking Sync Changes at the top right of your configuration screen will ensure that all of your changes are pushed to your connected system(s). As a best practice, we recommend to confirm this every time you make a change to a Group.

3. How to Delete an Inventory Group

  • To delete an existing Group, navigate to the Inventory Setup page and click the "Delete" option in the three dot menu at right of the inventory group.

  • Deleting a group will immediately revert any inventory types within the group to standalone inventory types.

  • To confirm this change, don't forget to click Save Changes, and then and then Sync Changes when ready.

4. How to move an Inventory into or out of an Inventory Group

  • Non-Parent Inventory types can easily be dragged and dropped into or out of one group and into another.

Important to note 🚨 Don't forget to review this article linked at the top for the specific instances where we recommend grouping inventories. Our system is designed to maximize revenue by independently pricing your inventories, and our advisory team is always here to answer questions if you are not sure about your configuration.

FAQ

What happens with existing Event or Seasonal Settings?

If you move one Inventory Type into a Group, all seasonal & event settings will now be derived from the group's settings.

If you move one Inventory Type out of a group it will keep all its previously derived seasonal & event settings from the group. However, moving forward you can edit them independently of the group.
